  1. Angelique, I think your voice thread is very well done. I especially like that the content is connected to the overall theme of your blog, and I like the challenge you put forth to the audience about why we are going beyond licensure.

    In answer to your question, I want to be a Public Health Nurse and obtain my Public Health Certificate from the state of California. For me, the importance of that certificate is not just to have more letters and titles that follow my name, it really is about the meaning of those letters. The certificate lets the public know that I have gone above and beyond my basic nursing training and have specialized and become a master in the Public Health arena. On a personal level it's about a feeling of accomplishment and pride in having a career focus I'm passionate about; professionally it's about having my clients feel confident in my background and training.

    Your voice thread was well done, and I have to agree with Elana, your voice is soothing. To answer you question, I would like to see more advance certificate study groups developed because not all advance practice nurses with advance practice degrees are certified, and this would be a way of encourage more nurses to obtain advance nursing certifications.
